I, Ashley, have always been an animal lover and had the wonderful privilege of growing up with many farm animals. I don’t remember a time during my adolescent years that I didn’t have a dog in my life. Mostly my family had German Shepherds, Labs and an occasional mixed breed, and I loved them all. Fast forward to early married life where my husband, Mark, and I had vet school to pay for, a growing family, no animals, and I missed my dogs! During those early days of bills and having babies I used to dream out loud with Mark about one day when we would get our first dog(s) and could start a breeding business.  In 2016, we took the plunge. Our family priorities and breeding purposes kept pointing us to a standard poodle. I had zero experience owning a poodle and what I had heard in casual conversations and the pictures I had seen had not helped me to form a good opinion of the breed. What a crazy looking dog! So delicate and frail, I thought. I had history with labs and my husband loved golden retrievers so, I figured I’d join the many breeders of doodles and breed labradoodles or goldendoodles. After much searching we found Addie.  Over the first few weeks of owning Addie we quickly learned that Addie was very smart. She was the easiest and quickest learning dog I’ve ever trained and she wanted to make us happy. She has an amazing ability to read our body language and moods and responds to us with a calm and caring affection that I have never come across to that degree, in a dog, before. She adapted easily to new animals and when we accepted them, so did she. She keeps up with our family when we are on the move but is also good with the rainy and snowy days we spend indoors together (we turn into couch potatoes in the winter). And lastly, I have yet to find a single hair. The girl DOES NOT shed-so wonderful!! In a very good way, Addie has lived up to our hopes and blown our expectations out of the water. As we raised her and learned more about standard poodles as a breed and compared everything to our previous experiences with dogs I started to realize how great we had it. Mom friends would tell me stories of their dog being aggressive or maybe a little jealous (making mom nervous) once they had kids. Or about having to vacuum every single day because their dog was heavy shedder. After owning Addie, and every one of our beloved standard poodles, I can say that I am a converted, dedicated standard poodle lover. All dogs are amazing in their own unique ways but this is the breed for me. Our family (kids and adults) loves our dogs and each is a delight in our everyday lives. We are constantly trying to learn and improve how we run our program. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to breed and train Poodles and our hope is that our passion provides you with a dog that meets and surpasses your expectations, whatever your goals may be. Thank you for stopping by today. Our family life is messy, wonderful, imperfect and busy. We invite you to follow along social media for our most recent pictures and updates.
